Alternative Ways To Unlock Your Android Phone

Alternative Ways To Unlock Your Android Phone

Isn't there a more straightforward way for your Android phone to recognize you besides a passcode, PIN, or pattern lock? While a fingerprint scanner is a good start, it can still fail, requiring you to enter a PIN or pattern to unlock your device.

Keep your phone unlocked while it's in your pocket.

Here's the step-by-step process: Go to Settings > Security > Smart Lock. Confirm your screen lock. Tap On-body detection and turn it on.

Keep your phone unlocked at home, at work, or near another specific place.

Access Trusted Places in Settings > Security > Smart Lock to add locations. Search or swipe on the map to select a place like your home.

Keep your phone unlocked near a trusted device.

To add a trusted device, click Settings > Smart Lock > Trusted devices and select Add trusted widget.
Unlock your phone with your face.

To activate the "trusted face" feature on your Android, go to Settings > Security > Smart Lock > Trusted face. Follow the prompts to scan your face, ideally with different lighting and accessories.

Unlock your phone with your voice.

Go to Settings > Security > Smart Lock > Trusted Voice. Set your Android to unlock when it hears "OK Google" after training it by saying the phrase three times.

Lock your phone and say "OK, Google" to activate voice commands. You can either speak your order or dismiss the "Listening..." prompt and swipe up to return to the home screen.
