How To Use ShareMe To Transfer Files Over Android, iOS And PC

What is ShareMe?

ShareMe (formerly known as Mi Drop) is a popular file transfer app on the Play Store that uses Wi-Fi Direct to share files between Android devices. Additionally, the app allows users to move files between their phone and PC by connecting to the same Wi-Fi network.

How to Transfer Files to Android Phone

1. Tap "Send" and select files to transfer, including songs, documents, and audio files.

2. Tap "Send" and set the other phone to "Receive." Alternatively, scan a QR code to speed up the process.

3. Your phone will search for the receiver's phone, and once found, select it to begin the transfer. Click the "Cross/Cancel" icon to end the transfer.

How to Transfer Files to iOS Devices

The app allows you to quickly transfer files without using the internet. Follow these simple steps:

1. Open the left menu of the app and select WebShare. You'll see a hotspot's username and password.
2. Connect to the network displayed in the Wi-Fi settings on the receiver device.
3. Open the FTP address or QR code displayed on ShareMe to complete the transfer.

Note: The only issue with this process is that the speed can be slow, which can be a problem in the case of heavy files.

How to Transfer Files to the PC

ShareMe is not just about sending and sharing files between Android devices. You can also move files between your phone and your PC.

Note: Connect to the same Wi-Fi network before you proceed with it.

1. Open the left menu of the ShareMe app and select Share to PC.

2. The next will display the Wi-Fi strength. Tap on Start, select Portable (not secure) from the list, and select the storage you want to share over an FTP connection.

3. Now, you'll see the FTP server at the bottom of the page.

4. On your Windows PC, open File Explorer and type the address. Hit Enter, and you'll see all your phone files on your PC.

After that, you are free to copy data between Android and PC.

What if you have no same Wi-Fi network?

Let me share the trick-

1. Turn on the Android hotspot, then connect to PC. After joining, turn on Windows "Mobile hotspot."

[Configure Windows "Mobile hotspot" if needed, like changing the password]

2. Now turn off your Android hotspot and turn on Android Wi-Fi.

3. Finally, connect to Windows mobile hotspot network.

Rest procedures are as same as before.

Why did I recommend ShareMe over other's file-sharing apps?

Because ShareMe uses Wi-Fi direct and FTP server features. Also, this is the most accessible app to share files.
