How To Enable Android Developer Options, USB Debugging And OEM Unlock



What is android developer settings?


The Developer options screen in Android's Settings app allows for configuration of system behaviors to aid in profiling and debugging app performance.

Go to Android settings

Access developer options in Android by tapping System>About phone>Build Number 5-7 times until "You're now a developer" message appears. 

Go back to System>Advanced and select Developer Options.


Once you access Developer settings, you can perform many actions. Along with USB debugging and OEM unlocking, there are additional interesting options discussed in this article's conclusion.

USB Debugging


Here is how to enable USB debugging in Android Developer options.

To enable USB debugging on Android, go to Developer Options and toggle on the USB Debugging option. 

When prompted, tap "OK" to allow USB debugging.


OEM Unlock


Here is how to enable OEM Unlock in the Android developer settings-

To activate the developer settings in Android, simply tap on "Enable". 

This will allow you to toggle OEM Unlocking.


Unlocking bootloaders varies by device manufacturer. Xiaomi devices lack an OEM Unlock toggle and instead have a "Mi Unlock" setting.

How to turn off developer options in Android?


Access Developer options by following these steps:

1. Go to Android settings.
2. Scroll down to Apps and Notification.
3. Tap on the App info menu.
4. Locate the Settings app and tap on it.
5. Tap on Storage and Cache.
6. Click on Clear Storage to remove Developer options from the settings.
